Cleaning Inside of Camera

My GF has a Canon Rebel XT...she (and I, frankly) were wondering how to clean the internal parts (the glass, etc) of the camera? Or should we have it done professionally? And, curious here, if we have it done, what is a fair price tag for that service?

PS I'd rather do it myself...but if its not safe, let me know...
 
The only reason I linked you there is because I don't know the Canon line. With my D50 and D80 I will clean them myself using auto brushes and canned air.

With my D200's I bring them in to be cleaned every 2 months. It costs $50 to have a cleaning done at my local camera store where they do everything in house. I don't know what the Canon prices or how involved the process is.
