So this year has gone by pretty quick. Alot has happend too.
Even though its only the start of the 2nd semester its time for us to pick our courses for Senior yr. Right so now too some questions.

Ok I was stuck on this, im taking another year of social studies, i understand as a fimmaker you want to understand your characters and you want them to have depth and meaning right, so i was wondering would it serve me better to take IUS Psychology or IUS Sociology. So basically one goes into the mind of humans the other into the culture and human nature.

Second question, ok I also enjoy to write, and write some of our scripts, their decent could use improvement, but gotta keep writing also enjoy it too not as much as being behind the cam. though. Hmm well wasted two sec. of your time, ok question #2 take creative writing or journalism.

Oh don't forget, try not to make the wrong choice basically your planning my future so wether I make it or not is in your hands.. No pressure though.

Just looking for opinions and some insight..

Thanks guys and gals..

Interesting, but personally I think neither are needed.

You need to observe, not disect.

Re: Classes

hi there-

my vote for #1 is psych. not only will you learn about other people, you will learn about yourself. You'll get some insight into why you are the way you are and why others are a little screwy, too.

creative writing or journalism?

that is tough. a toss up to me, but I lean towards journalism. that will help your overall writing. one aspect of journalism you may not think about..it is how you get news and info about the world around you. if you have no clue as to how it gets to you, you are more susecptible to being misguided or disseminating crap. you may also get some insight into how to handle media, which can also make or break you at some critical point.

i wouldn't stress too much over the decisions. as you will find out..go out and live a little and you will learn a LOT more than in books. the background reading is very helpful though. very.

Re: Classes

I agree with both pookie and pooh that it's not a big deal either way.  I was a psych major.  I took nearly everything I learned and threw it out the window the first day I worked in an inpatient facility.  It's great to talk about and theorize, but in an academic environment it takes years to get to the real meat of it.

In the end I would choose the subjects that interest you the most,  It's hard to go wrong that way.  If not that, pick according to the teacher.  That worked for me a lot.

Re: Classes

Not to mention none of it will matter when you get to College cause you get to start all over again.  :-/

I'd go with Culture myself.

Re: Classes

In my very humble opinion take the one of the two that interests you the most. You will do better and retain more just by being interested in it.

That can only help in the future.
