Clapboard

I have one of those cheesey chalkboard clapboards that's a pain in the bizalls to erase. Can you recommend where to buy or what kind of clapboard I should look into? Our audio is plugged into the camera so we don't need to sync.

ALSO:

- under the word SCENE, can you write a scene description or does it have to be the number of the scene? IE. SCENE: "Shannon & Megan 1" rather than scene 24.

- Under the word CAMERA, can you write the ANGLE? like angle 1, angle 2, if you're only using one camera?

Thanks!

anything easier to write with than the dry markers? They aren't so easy to erase I've noticed.

Hey there... Another place to checkout for slates/markers is studiodepot.com. You'll note that most manufacturers recommend using specific brands of dry-erase pens. Pay attention to their advice. Using any old dry-erase pen you find at Office Depot may not fully erase on that $70+ marker slate.

I've had the best success with "Marks A Lot" Dry Erase pens. It's also useful to use something other than your finger to erase the slate. Oils from your fingers can build up on the lucite/plastic to make it difficult to write on with dry erase pens. Most expendables dealers have 3 or 3.5" powder puffs which make great erasers.

cheers,
Steve
