Clamp light purchased in US - using in Europe?

Hi,

I have a clamp light I purchased in the US and am living in Montenegro. I am trying to build a lighting kit. I plan on buying some LED bulbs here and am wondering if I can use them with my US-bought clamp light. I suppose it really comes down to the clamp light insulation and whether 230V will produce too much heat.

The voltage isn't going to be what creates more heat, it's the amount of current, which would be less if you increase the voltage. All you really need to do is get the right plug, LED bulbs don't draw enough to overheat almost any cable. Certainly not the 16 gauge lamp cord on a clamp light.
