Citizen Bikes

Don't you just love when things come together? I was just planning on buying a bike this weekend when I hear about http://www.citizenbike.com/. Don't worry guys, I'm not advertising, I'm actually looking for opinions, if anyone here has tried them out. Having just started a new job last week (let's just say I'm transitioning to the NYC thing), I've wanted to start biking around here much more.

Well, it's already too late on my order, as I purchased the Gotham2. Most of the reviews seem quite favorable of the alloy models, so I'm honestly beyond excited for it. For what it's worth, I'm not much of a biker - fairly casual actually, this would be my first "dedicated" bike - so I'm not looking for peak performance here. As long as it doesn't fall apart in a week, I'll be happy.

Anyone try these? Anyone love 'em?

I haven't heard of Citizenbikes, but, as an avid cyclist, I wonder why do you need a folding bike? For storage? Throwing in a car? Keeping under your bed?

I suppose they're rugged enough for NYC streets, just... a bit different.

Now as for the Citizenbike models, I'll take 2!

Storage and more importantly, transportation on the trains. I take two train lines each day, one of which requires a bike pass for standard bikes and won't even allow bikes during peak hours.

Seems cool, but they also look a bit small.

It would make maneuvering very easy, especially in a busy city. Also instead of locking up outside, you can bring it in.
