Hi there

Just thought id provide an update for peoples wondering about the

Citidisk 120 HD

So far since the hard drive replacement the unit has been ok,
Expect the sound problems i have which were cause be flags being in the wrong places and was fixed by using the quick earsetool on the unit,

Currently we haven't shifted to HD so most of our work is in SD but i have experimented with 50 and 100 (Note: No P2 cards)

for what i have had time for I pulled in 24mins of Pro100 (720/50p) using raylight, i pulled it into premiere seemlessly, note the unit did not stop recording i stopped it, so i usume the long run record is fixed,

something to note about the citidisk is thatis is very fussy about the order inwhich things are done,

for eg the recording format can't be changed while the unit is on if you expect it work, citidisk power down change format power up wait for resync then roll and this includes using the squeeq (True 16:9) option in SD mode,

another important issue that is a big pain is the need to use qiuck format as oppposed to just deleting the clips straight from the unit in windows explorer if you start deleting stuff the qplay wont work cause of all the project referenceing and the unit becomes very tempremental.

also as yet i wasn't able to get 1080 onto the timeline, not sure why but its wouldn't import, but just wondering does anyone no the score with RAYLIGHT and citidisk files, i can't work out can a still get a proxy (RAYLIGHT RED) if i use the AVI i get out of citidisk it would be nice cause then multicam HD would be so slow to pick up if any one wants to shead light on any of this or would like more on my prelimery exprence with this device holla back

I had a loaner 100 GB model for a while and wrote a review of my experience with it. You can find it by browsing epinions.com and entering the search string "citidisk hd". Note that it is filed under the 80 GB model, as they had no listing for the 100 GB, and I knew the 120 GB model had problems unique to it.

I Need Help Can Anyone Tell Me How To Solve This Problem? I Acidentaly Pull The Fire Cable From The G5 While The City Disk Was On My Desk Tap. Now It Doesnt Show Up On The Dest Top Is There's A Way To Reset It. Plesae Let Me Know Guys'
 
I'll throw this in, Shinning's PR company (I hate when a company can't rep itself and hs to hire an outsider with no IT/video experience) won't send me a version to review until after NAB. They are supposed to have a major update then. He also told me that as of right now (pre-NAB) the CitiDisk for the HVX can NOT record MXF, only QuickTime and AVI. Is that for real?
