Hi guys, I was wondering if someone knows if it is possible to open the Citi DISK HD HDV DTE Firewire Video Recorder and exchange its hard disk to a bigger capacity hard disk.
Thank you

Hi, thanks for your post. My name is Matt and I'm with Shining Technology, makers of the CitiDISK line. We don't recommend opening the CitiDISK casing, as this will void your warranty. If you need a higher capacity, we have a full line of drives -- both standard and flash-based. These range from 160GB to 750GB. You're welcomed to contact me with any questions.

Hi Matt, I am also a CITIDISK user (cf) model. Why cant you guys make a firmware update so we can play back the clips while still connected to the camera (xha1). I thought it was suppose to do this, but it does not with my cam, even when I put the camera into playback mode(vtr). I just think if you guys released firmware updates with more and better features people would be more apt to buy. I'm actually looking at datavide to possibly switch over to because it is such a pain not being able to play back my clips without connecting wither to a pc or removing the card to play back in a pc. Are you guys working on a firmware update for this model??

Hi, thanks for your post. Just to clarify, please let me know your exact camera model and when you bought the CitiDISK CFR. We'll do our best to help you out!

Xha1 specified in my above post:)
I have the most current firmware according to your website. Still cant play back clips. not sure if it's possible with this combo.
