Circular Reflector - "give it a twist"

Just bought a 42" Pops Stroboframe circular reflector. For the life of me, I cannot collapse this thing.

The directions:

"To take down: Grasp frame with both hands, give it a twist, and it collapses to a folded size."

Am I supposed to say a magic word while I do that?

Circulars are easy compared to the oval ones. Here is the trick:

1) grasp both sides at points that are 180 degrees apart
2) twist the two sides to form a figure 8
3) push both ends of the figure 8 toward one and another, this will cause a third section to be created
4) continue pushing the three sections (all 1/3 of the original) together until they form a smaller circle which should now fit into the reflectors carrier

If all else fails, by a much larger carrier.

take two sides with your hands

close in your hands till your thumbs mee.t it all should look like a taco by now.

after that you need to flip it into three smaller cirlces ( well this part is hard to write about, but maybe that will help.)

otherwise don't feel so bad. I was in histerics the first time i tried to collapse a 5 foot by 7 foot similaar type thing. it is hard when you don't really now. keep at it.

It does take a bit of practice, but once you get it you'll be like "how come this used to be so hard?"

It's fun to expand it with a loud **PONK** in front of cats or small children -- makes 'em trip for a few seconds.

We always torture clients by having them try to collapse the reflector after they ask if they can help with anything. It becomes a quest for them.

" It becomes a quest for them"

What a great idea! I will definitely try that one next time.
