Some of you may recall that this winter we shot a piece "Free Press" to have some fun, shoot a CF1Le and CF3Le mixed demo piece, and work some bugs out our Ballare dolly system. "Undertow" is the 2nd piece that we're involved with, however it's a much larger shoot with 18 crew, union talent, and an ambitious 10 day shooting schedule. Cinevate is providing a truckload of equipment including lights, sound, our jib and Ballare dolly, several Brevis flip units etc. etc.

We'll be following Piotr's progress over the 10 days and started with this interview (the first in our newly renovated studio). Piotr, Scott and myself talk about how the project came to be, Scott's nervousness regarding adapter work flow, and our rather historic LOMO lenses they decided to shoot with. It's rather long at an uncut 21 minutes, so the video is very compressed...but the audio is worth a listen. Let's see how calm everyone is on day 2 :-)

Sorry about that. We upgraded our web presence yesterday to a higher CPU cycle server so things were wonky for a few hours during the transfer. Seems all the traffic lately required some more horsepower :-)

It's now Monday, 11pm and Scott is still sequestered in our studio, building up the rigs. Shotting starts tomorrow.

Ok, here's a clip from today, right before a cube van and a pile of crew arrived to spirit off the gear. There' s a sneak peak of what the Proteus rails shoulder mount system looks like...

Except Sean is from Cape Breton Island, and although he can hold his beer (he's a martime Canadian after all), I'm not sure he's much of a scrapper....
