Cinevate Inc 35" Atlas vs Varavon Slidecam S 900 vs Konova Slider k5

Hello all,

The time has come for me to pull the trigger on a slider purchase, and I have it down to these 3. The Cinevate only makes the cut because of the large discount sat B&H for a limited time. I've seen some negative feedback about wobble in the Konova sliders, so I imagine that one will find it's way off the list if I hear any more about that issue. Considering ho wmuch more the Cinevate normally is, I've yet to heard enough positives about it over the Varavon. I expect there are seeing how much more it is, and the brand it's coming from. Is it correct that you can't get motors or cranks or any such things for the cinevate? I dont know how much I would really need that right now, but looking down the road...

The Edelkrone slider plus is alluring as well, but I guess no one probably has real world experience with it yet, and it's shorter length makes me concerned a bit.

Thanks!

dont get the konova, i recently purchased one and its very much you get what you pay for. it works fine with a gh2 unless you use a tripod head. then terrible wobble kicks in. the resistance screw is also terrible. im hoping the edelkrone will be much better! heard amazing things about the cinevate sliders however.

Good to know, since I'd be using a 7D and a HPX-170. My concern is no tension adjustment on the cinevate. Does everyone love the varavons?

I've used pretty much every slider out there before i purchased Cinevate Atlas 30 (now upgrading to 200 because of larger camera payload). You get what you pay for couldn't be more true when it comes to sliders. Basically Varavon and Konova have too narrow of the track for the move not to woble.

BTW, if you are looking i'm selling my Cinevate Altas 30 (47" track) for $785. (you can inspect it if you are in NYC area). Email me if interested.

Thanks for the words. I pulled the trigger on the cinevate deal on B&H. I was already on the fence about the 26 vs 35, and I went with the 35. A 47 should be much too large of my normal usage. Thank though!
