Cinevate "Brevis" Concerns Continue

Hi everyone. I purchased a Brevis adapter at the beginning of December 2006. I was told the unit would take 3-4 weeks. To date I have not received it.

My concern is I've emailed Dennis this week and even private messaged him here this week but he has not responded to me. We are now looking at 13 weeks going into March. Last time I posted here Dennis responded after countless emails.

I'm concerned and dissapointed at my inability to get communication from :) Dennis. I'm sure that his adapter is very good but giving estimates of 4 weeks and not delivering after 13-14 weeks is a problem. Plus I have no way of calling him and my emails, even private messages from dvxuser, are not being responded to.

I would post on his website but have never been able to gain access.

Any suggestions here from the group would be appreciated.

-Anthony

der4,
once you purchased the brevis, you get an email telling you to log into the owners forum. It took me 5 minutes after paying fot the adapter. Since that time 1 week ago, I've had one PM and one email from Dennis. I know it sucks to wait....but your on the cutting edge with a small company. Be patient!

And a word of advice to others waiting for this or a M2....don't slap in on your rig on the first day of a paying gig without testing and rechecking your setup & workflow. I cringe everytime soemone says "I have a shoot tomorrow and I need it!" PREPRODUCTION guys!!

I ordered the Brevis on Feb 9th . I got an email saying that I was going to get another email regarding some owners forum. Never got that or any other responses to my questions. Hope it comes within the 4 week timeframe not any later. Really looking forward to it's arrival. It is for sure scary when everyone is used to ordering equipment from places like B+H and having it within days, but B+H ain't got no Brevis.

A small company with some great technology is bound to be plagued by these kinds of issues, at least in the early stages. I'm sure Dennis is bombarded with emails everyday. I know it's frustrating - waiting, hoping, panicking. Rest assured, there is progress being made and you will all get your Brevis packages as soon as possible.

Dennis is great and the Brevis35 is great. Have no worries, you will be treated exceptionally with Cinevate. Remember, it is a very small and new company and basically Dennis is doing it all.

Thanks for your kind words gents. For those following the thread...Anthony and the long awaited Rev2 will be united in about 5 days :-) There's plenty of exitement at this end as we move very quickly to a fully staffed, full time operation. The adapter project is just a start as the folllow focus, flip unit, jib and dolly (my personal favourite) will be brought online as soon as we're ramped sufficiently to accomodate them.

Just to update this thread...we're 100% on email now and about 2 weeks from being completely caught up with orders.

By March 23 or so, we will have adapters available for next day ship :-)

For the record my communication with Dennis and Cinevate have been nothing short of fantastic. There have been small issues, but that's the dice you roll when you invest in innovation, and any and all issues I have had have been dealt with both in a extremely professional manner and what's more, a very generous one as well. That's what creates trust and a loyal consumer base for a growing operation like Cinevate..

I understand how shitty waiting can be, and it's never fun to be on the receiving end of some production issues / bottlenecks, but all in all I feel like a company like Cinevate is working for the greater good in this industry, both by delivering a stand-out product that improves almost every day at a more than reasonable price, and by really taking time to communicate with customers and addressing their needs. It's a good example for all small business models working in this industry at least.

It pays off.

I agree. Just recieved an email from Cinevate updating me on the status of my order placed 2 weeks ago. Looking forward to playing the Brevis soon.

My order status was recently updated as well. Ordered Feb 18th and looks like Dennis will be meeting the 3-4 week estimate. Those who've ordered more recently will be able to reap the benefits of the "build blitz" as described on cinevate, and those who order at the end of the month and after will be treated that sweet sounding next day shipping.... kinda unheard of in the affordable adapter front.

And I haven't had to bother Dennis with follow up emails to get status info either. Soon, I'm sure dvxuser wont have to bear with anymore "where's my brevis" threads. :)

The newest version of the Brevis with interchangeable GG and variable vibration speeds among better design and other things if thats what you mean.

I just got my brevis a couple days ago! Man it's a nice looking piece of hardware. The setup time on this thing is amazing.

My order did take some time but I placed my in the 'boom' period. Dennis is doing the brevis as a full time job now so as he's said the wait times will drop drastically. Just saying, hang in there, you won't be disappointed.

I cant wait till he gets the idea to personalize them. Each will have their name engraved in the side in nice bold letters.
