Cinetech Follow Focus Photos

Hey guys,

I was lucky enough to stop by Cinetech Online today to try out some of their latest stuff for the HVX while taking a few product photos for them. I really think that Karl makes brilliant and high quality products that are not only functional but incredibly ingenious. If you ever get to play with some of his stuff, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I got to play with the new Cinetech Titanium SL Studio FF unit. It's a little beefier and more rugged than the standard SL unit I own which is also built like a tank. What I love most is the bored out support rods. It looks really cool while saving a little weight. He also makes different size drive gears so that you can use different sizes for different turn/focus ratios (similar to the gears on a mountain bike). Unfortunately, his swing away matte box was not ready yet but he assured me it would be ready for NAB.

Anyway, enjoy the photos!

Then you can go with the regular Titanium SL FF unit which is smaller and more conventionally sized or stay with the studio setup and change out the knobs. :)

Also, Karl makes knobs in a few different sizes to fit your tastes. The FF unit comes standard with black knobs but you can upgrade to wooden ones if you're feeling a bit stylish.

Looks great! The size of the knob looks really good. That's one of the biggest things for me. I find that most of the DV Follow Focuses out there have really small focusing knobs that you have to grab with just a few of your fingers. I like being able to palm the whole thing.

Would love to see the swing away mattebox once it's finished. Will you be taking photos of it once it's ready?

Dude, where can I get one of those wooden knobs. I just got a VariZoom conrtoller and I want to put a bigger knob on that. Looks like the hole might be the right size. If not that's what a drill is for.

Hey Guys,

I think I will be swinging by to take pics of the swing away matte box. I'll definitely post it when I do.

Also, if you want to get a knob, you can contact Karl at Cinetechonline.com He's a very nice guy.

THanks!

Looks good. I don't like the look of the wooden ones though, but I'm sure they work pretty well. Thanks for sharing.
