I know many of you have been asking and waiting for this product. Thanks for your patience. We have been working really hard to get this product made as fast as we could. Greg and I just received the final production sample. We are very excited about the way it turned out. It is similar to thr regular sized matteblox except many things like the mounting strap and the grips are beefed up. The super sized grips grab onto the lens well. We think you will be pleased with the product. From the front, it looks as if you are shooting with a 35mm panavision.

We are expecting an initial production shipment (25 units or so)to be here via airplane in a 2-3 weeks. The rest of the order (225 units)will be sent via ship which will take a little longer to get here. If you need one ASAP, please pre-order and we will get it to you as soon as the initial shipment comes in. We should be getting pictures and pre-ordering info up on our website by next week. http://cinetactics.com

Apart from the basic questions like price, incert slots for filters and such, do you have a pic or more specific info on your site or...when will this info be available? Let me know.

Mike will one matte box fit them all . . . i.e. with and without anamorphic or will you still need the 2 different models. ANy way it does sounds like good work . . . .  waiting in the wing!

Product manufacturing is a slooooow process. I wish our manufacturers would turn around prototype revisions quicker. Here is a simple overview of the process we go through.
Sketch design, measure camera lens, make mock ups, test on camera, make design illustrations, send to have prototype made, make prototype, they ship proto to us, repeat a few times until the address all of the changes needed (usually 3-4 times), send purchase order, they produce our order, they send one from the batch via fed-ex early (just like the one we just took pictures of), they ship us a small batch a couple of weeks after via fedex while the rest goes on a ship and in two days or so we are ready to ship to our customers.

This matteblox anamorphic will only fit on the anamorphic lens. You would need the original for all other applications.

..thats pretty sweet. is the extension of the box of the main mattblox piece extended to a 16:9 shape? it appears to be..which is good.

Yes iamloser. The window of the panavision filter holder is close to 16:9.

so, we will need to get 4x5 filters? or will our 4x4 filters work too?

4x4 filters will work, but might vignette slightly at full wide.

where do you get 4x5 filter? Who makes em and are they expensive?

Just a suggestion - if it's wanted...

Maybe make available a sort of adaptor ring that will allow this anamorphic mattebox to fit onto a camera without the anamorphic adaptor.  That way, people can buy one matte box, and only have to buy an attachment if they want to shoot in 4:3, rather than needing to get a brand new matte box altogether.  Just a thought...it would make me fork out the extra dough for this one I know, even though I don't have the anamorphic adaptor right now - knowing I won't have to get another matte box if I do eventually get it would be nice...

ok not to be negative but on your website you list it as being IN STOCK

i have a real problem with vendors taking orders, or even just advertising that something something is in stock

this is just WRONG!

if you goto cinetactics.com and add the anamorphic matte box to your shopping cart it never tells you its not in stock.
