Cinemek?

So does anyone have any status updates on their Cinemek purchases or any recent news regarding the company? I only ask because I love the look of the adapter, but it seems that they are a company to just be avoided (at least for the time being). Any new information would be nice.

Still waiting for my G35 ordered in APRIL 2009. Have been promised delivery at least a dozen times but nothing. Have been emailing Jon Houser both here and @cinemek and have not heard back from him since early december. $1650 spent and nothing to show for it. I think that answers your question.

I keep trying to convince myself that cinemek will evenutally live up to their word but it seems less and less likely. Which is really a shame, because I think a lot of people would buy their product. But as this point, I feel like I would be a fool to do it.

Can anyone say "Carrion"?

Damn, if I didn't get delivery within a week of expected due date after a long wait, I'd raise some hell. Broken promises over 1000.00 in most states classify as grand larceny. I read these posts all the time from this to Carrion and wonder why no one has gone legal. Once people have your money and don't deliver they can no longer claim "a cool guy" defense. Once you take thousands of dollars from people, naivete and being earnest is no longer an excuse.

My 10 cents.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: chargeback

People are sending $1000 to somebody for a product, they don't get the product but they do get lied to repeatedly but won't even do a chargeback? Blows my mind.

Conveniently enough Jonathan doesn't even have to claim "cool guy" when people complain because he has other people on this forum claiming it for him. Including Philip bloom and a DVXUser mod. These are all from a thread full of people who sent Jonathan money and got the runaround:

Philip Bloom: Jonathan is a straight up guy.

Isaac Brody: I have no doubt that Jonathan's legit,

I talked with Jonathan a few times on the phone and I believe that he's a straight up guy that is commented to delivering an excellent product.

All that praise even though one guy in that thread was waiting over a YEAR to get an item that he paid for. To make it worse the Cinemek website was still taking orders even though they were a YEAR behind and, according to Jonathan himself their "machine shop has gone under with a fair amount of our capitol invested. "

In my world, straight up and legit guys don't take your money, mislead you about when you'll get the product and then take over a year to issue a refund.

It's easy to charge less than Cinevate and Redrock when you only deliver product 25% of the time. I'd rather deal with a rude jerk who actually keeps hsi word than a "nice guy" who bilks me.
