New to the forums here. Hope I'm posting in the right place. Let me know if I'm not.
I'm directing a short this weekend on a shoestring budget with a DP much more experienced than I am.
By pulling a few strings, we've managed to secure cameras, lenses, sticks, lights, and sound, with virtually no budget. Understandably, he's also requesting a kino, C-stands, stingers, duvatyne, dimmers, flags, and other expendables. The shoot is the day after tomorrow, and I've never used a rental house in NYC. The internet, like it does, is pointing me in too many different directions to get a handle on the scene. Any crowd favorites in the area?
Also, in addition to the kino, we'll be using two 1x1s and two 350 watt softboxes inside my Manhattan apartment. Can the typical apt handle all that electricity? Any precautions I can take to avoid blowing the breaker?
