Hi all!
I've been dping some short films, one commercial and two music videos in the last two years, This summer I worked as an electrician in a feature film (my first professional gig) where I saw that I really want to went into cinematography. I got to use a very large toolset from helium balloons to kinos, I learn all the different grip tools and while I was working I always kept an eye on the camera crew (which filters they used, how they used the camera movements decisions, framing...). This was the most learn intensive experience of the last years.
I have a camera (hmc151) and I practice a lot with it, try different thing and so and so... also love photography and all the choices you have to take to take a photo that says something.
But I've gotten to the point where I'm stuck with the same tools, I always use the same camera, light kit, grip kit...etc... I've explored lots of its possibilities doing things I couldn't think of when I started with two worklights. So I feel the need to take a good one or two year course that will let me work with different cameras, film 35mm 16mm digital cinema cameras, better light kits....
so I'm looking for good courses in England or Spain, other countries are OK but language constrains are always constrains (I can speak both english and Spanish). The cost isn't a problem (well it is, but I don't mind investing on my future...).
At the same time I would look for ways to get into different gigs and learn from inside that for sure. But I want to complement that training with a more formal course.
Sorry for the long post but it's late at night and as I was finishing my last documentary I felt the need to ask this here.
Thank you for your help!
BTW, I'm studying at university and I still have another year to finish it so I'm still looking for places and saving money.
