Hi all, second post here.

I'm having major problems removing the pulldown on my regular 24p(not 24pa) footage shot with a DVX100B.

Info:
shot 24p, 1/48th shutter
imported in Final cut pro 5.1 as DV NTSC 29.97

Problem:
i select the clips i want to reverse telecine, and cinema tools(version 2.1) begins the process. a progress bar appears and starts to move, but gets about halfway and then a box appears informing me "ERROR -2008", then it tells me "this is probably due to a lack of memory".
i'm running on a 'mac intel core 2 duo' and i can assure you there is no lack of memory on my computer, its almost brand new and i only have half an hour of footage on it, no more than 20GB have been used up.

so, whats the deal??? please help!
thankyou!

that refers to RAM not hard drive space. I'd suggest capturing in much smaller clips. Reverse telecine only works on a single take at a time.

this just doesn't make sense to me, does that mean i have to break up all my footage to like 10 seconds a piece? i mean, there are tonns of movies with three minute long takes, the clip i have been trying to reverse telecine is literally 30 seconds, still too long? whats the deal??

ps, i just tried to reverse telecine a 12 second clip and it did not work either, still the same "-2008 ERROR- this is probably due to a lack of memory", when i look at the 'memory' section on the 'about my mac' it says: 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SD RAM, is this not enough??

1GB of RAM is the minimum to run FCP. I'd try recapturing a single take with the log and capture tool in FCP and then running CT on it.

thanks for your quick responses. still no sucess though. a 5 second clip captured as DV NTSC 48khz was not able to be reverse telecined.
