Cinema Tools for Vegas

You don't need cinema tools in Vegas as Vegas can do most of what CT does naively. If you want 24p slowmotion from 60p, just drop it to your time line and set the playback rate to 40% of the original.

Shoot 60i with 1/120 shutter.

Drop that into a 24p time line.

Set project properties to interpolate and not blend fields.

Slow it down to exactly 40% of it's original speed. (right click, properties)

Render it out at 24p using the Best setting.

And you will get silky slow motion. Take a look at some stuff on my site (Tone and Thoughts on Departure) to see what it should look like.

Hey William great stuff..Im just wondering 60i on 24p timeline wount be an issue? What project settings do u normally use for 24p footage?Blend fields?

If you're using only 24p footage, just use the project setting template and don't change anything. If nothing else, it should be set to None (progressive).

If you're using 60i for slo-mo on a 24p timeline, change the setting to Interpolate Fields. Do NOT use Blend Fields.

Thanx..I had saved my template setting for 25p as..Non progressive, resolution full and interpolate fields is that ideal for 25p footage? So for 25p i should still use none instead of interpolate right? And what situations wil i use blend fields.Just trying to understand more

If you're using 25p, you don't need interpolation OR blending. It's already progressive.

You use those options when you're converting interlaced video into progressive. It controls how it will be done -- interpolating fields (better for motion; more of a resolution hit), or blending fields (better for resolution; terrible for motion).

Thanx man for clearing that up for me..Couldn't get a good link to explain this properly
