cinema displays?

I know mac rumors says not to buy. But its been over a year since an update and im growing inpatient. Do you think its worth waiting for? I cant stand my Dell anymore. Also besides a webcam and mic what else could they change?
 
Can't stand your Dells? Dude...I SWEAP by my Dells. Seeing them side by side with the Apple Cinema Display...no contest.
 
is there a problem with the matrox MXO and Dells.

Sorry my dumb question. I'm not up to HD yet, but is in my very near future and I'm about to get a dell 2408, just making sure I don't screw up. do I need a MXO to see HD? I know I need to read a lot. but thought maybe someone will give a brief explanation.

Trying to learn.

The MXO seems to be designed especially for use with ACDs (but offers other presets too).
Still the ACD today simply is outdated fom a technical standpoint.
For color proof work we use EIZO, next step up would be a Quato...
 
Yes. I guess it depends on your grading needs and what not. I mean hell, Dell has that sweet plexiglass LCD with the integrated speakers. I so want that!
 
I'm just about to order the Dell 2408...and then I have those thoughts: what if apple brings a new ACD right after I buy, with led, camera, and better color accuracy, better refresh time and all of that? I'll be kicking myself.

But then again...can't believe how far behind they are...and keeps on going. wow. what are they waiting for? that's the question, no?

I worked at a Cable station and the FCPs in two rooms had a Dell and a 23 Cinema Display. When I built my newest system I got two 23 Cinema Displays
 
you guys are right... it's not gorgeous, it's sleek!

my best suggestion is use Dell for the big monitory (your 30") and then get a 23" ACD refurbished or new for the monitor you'll be using for preview if you're getting a MXO.
 
yes, I'm between the dell 2408 and the samsung 24".... seem they have same spec..except dell has display port and $100 more expensive. Are these two TN monitors?

yeah.. ACD's are suppose to be good but hey need a refresh. but when.
