Cinema camera mft vs ef

What's the advantage of going with the mft mount when you can just get a $5 mft to ef adapter on eBay? Especially, in my case I own a mark II and have some nice l series lenses. Everyone is making a huge deal about the mft mount for the bmcc and I'd like to know they key features of that over the ef mount? Any response will be appreciated?

Well Because of the focal flange depth of the M4/3 mount you can use many more lenses than with the Canon EF mount, including PL mount cinema lenses. If you are only going to be using your Canon EF mount lenses with this camera then it probably makes more sense to get the EF mount version.

The first version of the MFT mount will not have any electronic lens controls, so it is best suited for those that would prefer fully manual still or cinema lenses.

Your thinking is backwards. You can get an adapter to put EF lenses on a M4/3 camera, but you cannot put M4/3 lenses on an EF mount camera due to the aforementioned flange depth issue.

How about the classic m42 lenses? Can those be used on the ef mount bmcc?
