Cineform Recorder?

Not sure, man, but Convergent Design has a smaller version of the XDR coming out (September release date projected) reported to be low cost that offers a similar solution if not better considering the choices in recording formats.

Thanks for resurrecting this kholi. I've been following Convergent Design's updates too. It looks like the cineform recorder wasn't at NAB and is still in development.

I dont' think the Cineform will be hitting shelves in a timely fashion, and by timely I'm referring to the release of the 170 as far as Panasonic goes. I'm not sure which cameras would benefit from the HDMI only connection that the Cineform totes but the price is nice. You would have to factor in something like a Converter Box that'll get you an SDI to HDMI conversion (Kona) which adds to the price.

However, Convergent's new NanoFlash project seems like the best bet, offering HD-SDI input AND HDMI input in the same unit, as well as multiple options for recording and two CF slots as well.

You can check this thread for the nanoFlash discussion, Mike Schell of Convergent joined in and shed some light on very interesting (and exciting) things: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=134256

I'm sure that they'll have a comparison chart between the XDR and the nanoFlash up pretty soon.
