I was just wondering if anybody out there is using Vegas 6 and Cineform and how you find it, particularly in relation to ease of conversion, playback/monitoring and rendering. I was all set to buy Edius 4 when I saw the Cineform post in the HVX section. I really don't want to have to go and learn another prog if Cineform does the job ! Any thoughts ?

Give CineForm Connect HD a 15-day try for free from http://www.cineform.com/. CineForm and Sony Vegas have a long and good working relationship -- Sony licensed a version of the CineForm codec for Vegas 5 & 6 for HDV users, it is a proven workflow for Vegas.

Thanks Daivd!
I've Just ordered Connct HD. I'm looking forward to being able to edit with Vegas 6 and not worry about changing editing platforms.

Raylight will always require the original files where as Cineform will recreate avi files. I like Cineform.
