CINE Dof adapter

Hello fellow Melbournian!

someone did buy that i think... was is postmaster?
it's a pice of crap. utter crap. and they want $900US ($1037 Australian).... plus shipping probably

the SGpro with nikon mount and rails and case is only $1174 Australian including shipping to melbourne
the sgpro is also, in my opinion and several other people on this forum, the best adapter you can buy.

check it out - shoot35.com

Ah nice to see a fellow Melbournian, Thanks for the warning, it looked a bit cheap and figured very little exposure on the internet so must be not very good.

The Sgpro seems pretty good, seen some excellent footage but I didn’t realise it was that cheap. That’s awesome. Also how did you get around payind duty tax and what ever else the Oz goverment chucks on? or did you end up paying that

what about a mate box, got any recommendations?

mate boxes aren't a necessity for me. i don't need one as i don't use filters all that much. i've got one polarizing filter that just screws onto my lenses and i never use it.

unless you use graduated ND's or have a crap load of crazy filters, then a mate box probably just a waste of money. i think most people buy them to make their cameras look cool or more professional.

if you're dead-set on getting one, then get one with at least one rotating filter tray. freshdv.com did a review of a few different ones a while back. give that a search.

so true. just clamp flags to block flares. most real flare issues aren't solved by the matte box alone. bit of aussie humour but "mate box" intentional or not, i laughed :cheesy:

hehe.. only if I could spell :)

I did plan to use some filters but propably could just build a simple flag holder for the flares.

thanks for the responses. I got an A1 but would like to shoot a couple of shorts with some 35mm lenses, I got a few of them sitting in storage from my film cam.

I haven't imported any large packages from overseas and wondering how have you got around paying taxes? (assuming get them to send it as a personal mail rather then as a business)
