chrosziel support rods - there's gotta be a better way!

okay so i'll admit it - i'm a college student, therefore i dont have a whole lotta dough. however, i DO want to upgrade my DVX, adding a matte box and a follow focus system, so instead of going century optics or chrosziel, im looking at the indifocus system (http://www.expeditionfilmpartners.com/store/dept/products/p300.html) and indiesnap matte box (http://www.indiesnap.com/DVXuser/index.html).

BUT i need 15mm support rods for the FFocus system. unfortunately the cheapest ones i can find are chrosziel, retailing for $320 PLUS $170 for a center bracket (necessary?)

PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS ANOTHER WAY, DO I SERIOUSLY HAVE TO DROP $500 ON A COUPLE PIECES OF CAST METAL?!

cavision rods. about $235 for carbon rods, super adjustable brackets, and 2-day shipping. center bracket (you choice of support for matteboxes or lenses) is included.

It's not just the rods, it's the adjustable baseplate and the engineering... but I admit Chrosziel prices tend to be on the outrageous side. It's been a long time since I last was in college, though, so I have a Chrosziel kit (mattebox, rods, etc.). They work great together (as pictured in the avatar to the left), but when I wanted to add an indiFocus I had an unpleasant surprise...

Tim has been great so far, and I'll soon upload a complete review of my experience with many pictures and (hopefully) a happy outcome... In the meantime, those Cavision rods do look quite good, although I tend to prefer aluminum over carbon for a piece of equipment that does get a few hits here and there, regardless how careful you are.

The indiesnap mattbox looks cool, but it doesn't say if it has a rotating filter holder for polarize filters. That's an important feature for me.
