Chroma key in flash?

Hi guys

Working on a project where I need to isolate some video elements for use in a flash (facebook) application.

The footage is of a woman, shot against a green screen. She's performing some simple actions that we need to have as separate, isolated elements that can be used in different ways for the flash game.

In an ideal world, I would give the full files as quicktimes or flvs to my flash designer, and let him key out the green himself. Is this possible? Does flash have chroma key capabilities?

If not, what is the best way to get my flash designer the distinct elements? I've heard that a possible workflow involves exporting two files for each clip, and alpha channel and then a color version, which my designer can then fuse back together to get the keyed out elements.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

you can do it in after effects and then export the video clips as flash files and there you do, there's lots of companies doing this now, and there's lots of hits on google about it

What about Live?

What about Live?

Hi,

I considered that option..

but I am working on an application which uses live video feed from a webcam.. it's a virtual classroom application.

Can we remove the green bg from the video feed coming in?

My guess is that your best bet if you're doing it live would be to get a hardware switcher that can do a green screen live, and then feed that to the web. There may be software that can green screen live, but I'm not sure.
