Choose Render Area?

I originally rendered a a project from my DVX100B - 24p- 720x480 to a uncompressed .avi file. I used Vasst "celluloid" to convert my original 4:3 footage to widscreen format. When I pull the rendered uncompressed .avi file back into Vegas it appears as 720x480 widsrcreen with bars on Top and Bottom. (Picture Below)
I would like to know if it is possible to select an area of the preview file/project and only render that area to a new render?

I have tried to figure it uot in the Video/Pan-Crop but had NO luck.

Go back to your original project. Change your project settings to Widescreen. Then, render as Widescreen. Bring the new file back into a Widescreen project.

But you don't need to render to uncompressed. Rendering to 24p DV widescreen (with 2-3-3-2 pulldown, because you're going to bring it back into your timeline) will save you time, space, and resources.

Thanks for your quick response David.
Makes sense to me ...
but unfortunatley I do not have the original raw project files ...
just the uncompressed .avi file.
Is there any way that I can now select only a portion of the project to render?

Thanks for the tip on future renders.

p.s.
I love your Celluloid plug-in and use it all the time!

Are the black bars in the footage itself? If so, go into a Widescreen project, go into Pan/Crop, and then right-click and select "Match Output Aspect." Then, render as Widescreen.

If the black bars aren't there in the footage itself, then you don't have to crop it. Just work in a Widescreen project.
