Chinese Replica -Sen MKH 416

Hmmm.... 70% off of the real price? It's either fake or the current owner got a five finger discount. Of course, the fact that it's shipping from China should be a pretty big tell as to which it is.

Foreign brands (i.e. not Chinese brands) of photo, video, and audio gear sold in or shipped from China are MORE expensive than the same gear sold and shipped from the US. If you're paying less, it's almost certainly a fake.

You'll get good deals of equipment coming from China, if it's Chinese branded gear. I've seen some really awesome gear here made by Chinese companies that hold their own against other non-Chinese brands.
 
Most likely fake. The packaging shown in the photo denotes a "MKH 416-P48 3U", and the actual model from Sennheiser is an "MKH416-P48 U3"

Plus, the Sennheiser logo on the black plastic box is white, where it should be blue, and the fonts used for the logo on the mic itself don't look quite right

Sennheiser does not make these kinds of mistakes
 
The number of fake and relatively good fakes, not that they work but that they resemble on Ebay is out of hand. Everything from Sennheiser to Sony and mostly high end products. I recently bought Sony camera batteries and I thought they were legit but discounted (about 30%) less than BH. The package right down to the Hologram looked convincing on the net and just as convincing when they were delivered. Except as large as they were supposed to be they didn't last any longer than the smallest one I have. I weighed them and brought them to the local Sony store and they were deemed to be fake. I got my money back after a long fight with Ebay and the crook who sold them. I was accused of being complicit in looking for a discounted battery.
So now I buy from American and Canadian dealers ONLY and know that if I have a problem there is some recourse.
