Chinese Ebay Scams...

So far I've seen several cameras (XL2, FX1) on eBay for under $500 selling out of China from a guy with 100% positive ratings. So what's the scam. Someone tell me. As far a grey market equipment, I really don't care, for $500 I can afford to get it fixed if it breaks down or buy a mack warranty or whatever. My only concern is is this stolen equipment I'm looking at. If so I don't want any part of it as one of our very own members were scammed by folks who stole their camera to sell on ebay.

I've often heard electronics are cheaper out of China, but I'm I looking at illegal merchandise or the possibility of getting a box of nothing? The seller has multiple electronic items in the $500 range. Honestly I'm willing to buy both of these cameras at the price offered because I do want both, but I understand if it's too good to be true so what's the dealio?

Post a link to the auction or seller's ID. I've reported several HVX and DVX related scams to eBay, and they all had the exact same MOs. I'm betting this is the same guy under yet another username.

Oh, and to answer your question, YES THIS IS A SCAM!!! Why would you think there is any possibility that any $3000+ device would be sold for only $500?

Even if I was hit by a bus tomorrow, and I lost both my arms and legs, and after the bus hit me, it kept going, and ran into my house, casuing it to collapse, I still wouldn't be so desperate for money that I would sell my HVX for $500 on ebay.
You won't get anything if you buy from this guy. Even theives looking for a quick buck would sell for more than this. If I had to guess, he probably has 20 or so feedback, but they were all posted within the last two weeks, and all for less than $5.00 items he purchased...
