China Silk or Artificial Silk

I am going to put a 20x20 Matthews silk for sale in the marketplace. We put a small tear in it near the edge during a shoot and the rental house charged me to replace it. Instead of arguing, I agreed as long as they gave me the torn one.

But the challenge is that I don't want to rip anyone off. They charged me to replace a China silk (over $800), but the tag (picture below), just says "silk". That got me wondering so I looked on B&H and the 20x20 Matthews China Silk they have listed has a white border. The one I have has a Yellow Border, like the Matthews Artificial Silk, which sells for $343.

Any insight based on this and the pic as to whether this is an artificial or China Silk?

Nevermind. Just heard back from Matthews. Definitely an artificial silk.

A bit excessive...yes. But a rental house does have to pay for the shipping and the loss of revenue until a new silk arrives but even then around $500 would be more fair.

From the way I read it Paul, Jim's been charged for an authentic China silk, with the rental company knowing its not.
