hi folks,
I have been happily shooting with a pair of China redhead rip-offs for almost three years, until I did a shoot in Guam and switched the bulbs from 220v to 110v (before that been shooting only in 220v countries).
Almost immediately BOTH redheads died on me, and when I tore one apart to try to fix it I found that the wires to the bulbs had broken (or corroded).
I'm suspecting it has to do with the change in voltage - lower voltage=higher amperage, right? So maybe the wires were rated only for 220v.
Does this sound right? Or could there be another cause?
