Chicago

I had this film laying around my shelf for a while, and I decided to watch it the other day.
I must say that this is a brilliant film. The acting, the story, directing, everything was brilliant.

Anyone seen it? Anyone into musicals?

All the best

Fidel.

Re: Chicago

I liked Chicago, but Richard Gere's singing left much to be desired.

Some great musicals you should check out, if you haven't already:

Cabaret
Singin' in the Rain
All That Jazz

Re: Chicago

although I do own this movie and watch it on occasion(I'm a musical freak), its not in Moulin Rouge's league(then again, in terms of overall music and cinematography, not many musicals are-outside of Disney cartoon musicals, but, those are cartoons!). Moulin Rouge, Grease, The Sound of Music, Rocky Horror, even South Park had more than one good song--Chicago only had "Cell Block Tango." And, yeah, Richard Gere tried, but it just wasnt happening. Still, its enjoyable, just couldve been better.

Along with the musicals I mentioned, be sure (if you already havent) to see the "Wise Up" song in Magnolia and the "Wise Up" homage that didnt make the final cut in Austin Powers 3(on the extras in the dvd), sung by Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles.

Re: Chicago

I loved this movie. And I'm not too big on musicals. I liked Moulan Rouge, but (and please don't yell at me) is it possible that it had just a few too many songs?

Re: Chicago

Not gonna yell, it's all subjective :P

I didn't think there were too many songs in Moulin Rouge - I loved everything about it honestly!
