Checking quality without tv

Hello,
I hope this is the right forum, but I want to check the quality of my video as far as the pixelation of the titles and the coloring, but I dont have anything but a laptop (currenly teaching kayaking in chile with no access to much of anything as far as tvs or dvd players or anything.
Any sugguestions? when I watch the clips sometimes the titles seem a bit pixelated, but then again my desktop resolution is at 1440 by 900.
i shot it on a dvx100 and edited in FCP then exported uncompressed, then put it on a dvd with a dual pass encode variable bit rate set at 5mbs.
thanks,
tren

Frankly I don't think you really can. Its pretty much why we're always having to tell people around here to not give up on their footage because of issues they see on their computer monitors. They are just not built for that purpose and there's not really much of a cheat. If your laptop has a video out though, and you can get yourself an LCD to go to, you could then use the Apple Cinema Display mode or whatever its called. I think a pretty poor substitute, but about as close as you'd get. Good luck.

cheers.

well that is welcomed reassurance thanks! I am going to try to find someone that has a dvd player i can check it on.
thanks,
tren
