Hey, I've been working on a photo slideshow video for a local 8th grade graduation ceremony. I just completed the intro, please check it out and let me know what you think (I posted it here in the cafe cause it's non-dvx related).

It's all hand edited in Vegas Video and is approx, 18MB. You can download it here:

Thanks,

I like it Larry. The only thing I would have liked to see was the books on the second shot eventually pull into focus. I think that would have looked cool. I also think that it might be a TAD (and I mean TAD) too slow. But, like I said, I like it how it is, those are just changes I might have made if I had done it.

Freeking Awesome... or as we say in the bayou state "Thats' got Lagniappe!"
("lan-yap") Translation "A little something extra"

The only thing that distracts me is the main phrases that starts from wide to tight. Better to start from far away and zoom in or at least fade in. OTher wise, thats a fine piece of work my friend

Looks good, Larry. Very nice.

A few things: Near the beginning, "Time" is cropped on the right (the "e" is cut) and also "Wisdom" stops crossing the screen too soon. It needs to continue and go completely off screen, like the others. The hands photo looks really JPEG'd and compressed. Is that the best quality you have for that shot? Also, Memroies looks cropped on the bottom.

Other than that it looks nice. Would make for a good Flash e-card as well.

Thanks everyone...glad people liked it.

PK, thanks for pointing those out...I'll get those fixed before sending the DVD to the school. I made a change yesterday evening and started to render and then my computer shut down (or so I thought). After making a few more changes (thinking I had done something wrong) and re-rendering several times, each time causing the shut down again. I panicked....I thought my drive, with my herofest files and this intro I had spent the last 12 hours working on, was failing.

Fortunately it was just my video card and I resolved it LATE last night. Apparently the changes, and sudden shut off of the computer, caused a few hickups in the text.

The "hands" photo looks like that because I blew it up, cutting out the part with the girls in bikini's (it is an 8th grade graduation after all). I'll see if I can't find a better image to use....but I really liked the group of hands from people in a circle. Really sold the idea of "friendship" well.

Thanks again everyone!
