As maybe some of you know, im in the military, Im a Carpenter / Welder in the military. Do you actually think that is what I should be for a living? Me either. Well I been in for 3 1/2 years now and I put a cross training package in (which is just like applying for a new job but still being in the air force)

Chances weren't good that I would get that job and I was probably gonna have to get out of the service and struggle in college to become a video editor.

Well seconds ago I checked my Military Personnel Finance page online to see the Status on my retraining package and this is what came up :

So that pretty much is the fork in the road, and I am (what I think) making the right choice. So I will be going to school in maryland!

I cant even explain how happy I am right now. This (to me) is the best news I ever had in my whole life. And hopefully things will just keep going up. I am planning on staying in the service atleast for another 4 year enlistment (get college out the way) 100% tuition assistance. And then when that term is up as being a videographer, I will get out and then go to college to get a masters.

Then start my own BUILDING with my company setup to do Music Production, Video Editing/Filming & Graphic Design.

Ok, now, your comments!

Re: CHECK OUT MY LIFE NOW!!!

Congrats Damien--that's great news. And welcome to Maryland--where will you be stationed? Le t me know if you ever want to hook up and work on some projects.

Re: CHECK OUT MY LIFE NOW!!!

That is great news (especially when that is what you wanted). When I was in the Coast Guard (Funny, I was going to pick the Air Force but I needed to be on the water) I qualified to go Public Affairs and was so stoked.

I think this is great! Does the Air Force hook up for re-enlistments.

Re: CHECK OUT MY LIFE NOW!!!

Congratulations man!!! Good luck, it sounds like you have a well thought out plan!

Re: CHECK OUT MY LIFE NOW!!!

Yeah, hope things work out like they should. I will just be doing the tech school in maryland, and it will be at something like fort mead or whatever. dont know the tech of it yet!

Re: CHECK OUT MY LIFE NOW!!!

AIRPOWER!!!

LOL

This is GREAT news for you. When I was at Bolling we used to get you guys to come by and visit the hangar and try to beg you to do your final project there. The band is a GREAT story... anyway. Yes, you'll be going to Ft Meade. Right between Baltimore and DC. Great golf course for an Army post.

Do you know where you'll go after tech school? Keep this name handy -- TSgt Jeb Eaton. You need ANYTHING give him a call... he's on the global.
