Hello there, first time in this area...but just wanted to shout out about a cinematographer I stumbled across on Vimeo: His name is Leonardo Dalessandri and his work looks amazing.

He shoots on a Sony Ex1 - and it is beautiful. Check out his films - especially City of Love.

Fanstastic filmmaker!!!

No - not THAT Leonardo - but another with the surname Dalessandri.

I stumbled across his work by chance on Vimeo.

Simply type in his name and check the guys work: I like all, especially City of Love.

Definitely needs wider recognition.

What do you think???
 
Nothing particularly special about any of that in my opinion, Rob. It basically looks like a guy walking around a park with a camera... Average. Plus the zooming drives me crazy.
 
Thats a shame you feel that way Andrew...I'd be interested to see then something you find special...I'm always eager to see peoples work :)

Shame you guys don't like his work....perhaps you too could show me some work you rate?
 
Eh, don't see anything special.

Placed a camera on a tripod, and shot people are varying framerates. Sure, it's a nice image. But nothing that great.
 
Yeh - but I like his editing style...and choice of story flow. Did City of Love not inspire you to go there?

I love his choice of music and how he edits to it!

Some nice clips, nothing noteworthy. I have a soft porno with more artistic integrety than anything I saw here (//maybe that's a bit harsh I'll admit), and yep, I'll edit out the girl's parts and post a grab if anyone would like. (oookay, let me dig it out. It's nice though.)

Yeah, nice, but meh. Not National Geographic stuff or anything.
 
yeah, I'm really not sure why someone woul see this and feel the need to get the word out on this guy. At least with that clip. Has he worked on anything else?
 
Just came across him on Vimeo - thats all....and for ME, I liked his style thats all. I just am interested in new filmmakers work and his stood out to me. I'm always wanting to see stuff to inspire too - so if you guys want to link something you rate; please do.
