Cheapest way to flip the Image = $0

uhhh... I haven't seen this before, but I was fooling around with my DIY adapter and thinking about how I was gonna build a flip module when it occured to me- FLIP THE CAMERA.
Forgive me if it sounds stupid and goofy, but what could be easier than shooting with the camera upside down? I don't think it will hurt the dvx at all. It's a little weird using the controls upside down, but once you get used to it....

Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't think it would hurt the camera at all, do you?

I'm going to plan on flipping it that way and build a nice solid "flip bracket" so I can mount it to my tripod...etc...

Of course, we wouldn't have to go through this if they would add a feature to these cameras to flip the image (or NOT flip it, depending on how you look at it, [pun intended])

It's too easy !

Lots of people have done this, just mostly with smaller cameras (a la HV20). The DVX is just a little too big and bulky to be easily turned upside down (IMO) but go for it.

look up my other method, for the dvx. It only flips the imag ein the lcd, mind you. i believe he is trying to capture the image right side up.

Like that

I did see a DIY adapter rig and the guy had built a box frame around the camera (HVX200) and the camera was upside down inside the box. He had removed the cameras view finder and mounted it externally to make it easier to use. It was a permanent arrangement, he had really taken an HVX200 and transformed it into a permanent 35mm lens camera. The photos are on the forum somewhere.

When I first ordered my M2, I concocted an upside down mount for my camera but soon abandoned my thoughts of flipping the camera because of the difficulty I'd have in getting to the controls on the camera. As it turned out, using monitors I can flip the image on and a flipped on-board lcd screen while flipping footage in post is so easy, I don't even want a flip unit for the M2.

.

Lilliputs are the way to go or if not going the external monitor route just buy a little mirror for the LCD (flipping in post is no real hassle).
