I am looking down the road in investing in a stedicam with vest system for my F900. Is there anything decent at 1000 or under available?

What does your rig weigh? You could try this CAME-TV stabilizer; I'm not sure how it compares against a Steadicam.
You won't get anything cheap since that is a bit of weight for the steadicam to hold, 20 pounds at least, might be able to get and older glidecam but make sure it's rated for the weight your putting on
