where is the cheapest place i can send my 16mm for get developed and sent back. negative stock, so C-41 i think

Cheapest does not equal best, or even "good" for that matter. Check out my recent post. I had it done by Cinelab. Cost about $125. I don't know if that's cheap or not, but it seemed around what most were asking, maybe a little more. Footage looks good to me and I'm satisfied with the service. I just forgot to ask for my empty reel back.

Processing is the same for super and regular 16mm.

And Cinelab is a pretty good lab with decent prices. Also check out the closest branch of Technicolor. Here in Vancouver they develop for 16 cents a foot.

As to the cheapest option not being the best one, I have to agree. I have recently dropped my reel off over at a place which develops for 14 cents a foot. First, they almost overcharged me when they thought that I asked for reversal processing (40c a foot), and then ended up charging me 17 cents a foot. Luckily I didn't have a lot of footage.

And they didn't accept anything but cash or credit cards. And they ran out of Visa slips.

I have been using Forde Lab in Seattle for ever but they closed and I am at loss as to who to go through now I would like to find a good lab and a great transfer company. I do not care where and have been using Victory in Seattle. They are good but I am open to anyone who has answers as to what to transfer my super 16 to in HD formatt. Thanks

I've been using Alpha Cine in Seattle (they bought Forde) for processing, and have my footage transferred at Downstream here in Portland. Alpha Cine also does transfers, so you may want to talk with them, especially if you are in Seattle.

If you're a student fotokem is .10/ft, and magic telecine is 165/hr for dvcpro, 175/hr for digi beta.

Wow, 2-3 for turnaround? Thats pretty insane actually. Typically you look at a 2-3 day turnaround. I use CineLab. They do a very good job. Sent them Tri-x reversal and Vision 2 film. Fantastic service, great telecine too. And fast.
