Cheaper alternative dividers for hardcase - pelican 1620?

analogs

I didn't realise how expensive the dividers are!

Are there any alternatives cheaper dividers out there for the Pelican 1620 case that anyone knows of?

Possibly another brand of dividers that fits the 1620 internal dimensions of 54.6 x 41.7 x 31.9 cms.

Thank you.

Great link JPNola!

And speaking of keeping costs down. At IBC I spoke to an Italian company that made pelican-like protective bags. They looked like great quality but for a lower price than Pelican. I can’t remember the name of the company though. Anyone know?

Here's HPRC, an Italian company that I =think= makes or made the hardshell cases that PortaBrace sells. Also available under their own name at the usual places.

Pelican also has their Vault line, which I think is made overseas and not in the US. Less expensive, IIRC:

And then there's Monoprice, Harbor Freight, and more:

Swap the color palette and they are carbon copies of the PB hard-shells. They have to be the manufacturer.

You mean HPRC and Porta-Brace? I agree, unless there are some new Porta cases made elsewhere.

For the Monoprice & Harbor Freight, I presume those are not made by HPRC.

I've seen the HPRC/Porta cases in the field. They seem work OK. The Monoprice & Harbor Freight cases I've seen don't appear to be nearly as well made or as rugged; I don't think I'd put expensive and delicate equipment in them... But I guess they could have some uses.

Sorry. Yes, I was referring to the HPRC cases. I don’t think I replied in the clearest fashion, or I should have chopped off the bottom 3/4 of your quote.

Vanguard make an insert that fits perfectly into the 1620, even has a lid. I use it all the time. There are cheaper options from B&W and several good Chinese options on ebay.

Hi Liam,

Are you talking about the Vanguard Divider Bag 53 - 56 x 42 x 20cms

It seems a little bit larger to the 1620 - 54.6 x 41.7 x 31.9 cms and it is about 11 cms not deep enough?

How are you making up for the 11cms in lost depth?

Thanks.

Just checked - see pic - and realised mine is a peli 1610, not 1620. My bad.
