*Sigh* I think I've been disappointed by my tripod for the last time. I picked up a Bogen 501 head through the Market here at DVXUser, and it's great. Not great, however, are the sticks I put it on, taken from a cheap Sunpak photo kit.
I've been searching around online for a decent pair of legs that aren't super expensive, but I'm also shooting myself in the foot by being picky: I'm trying to find a 2-stage setup with a bowl level adjust. This isn't supposed to be a WTB posting, however. My question is this: I've seen some tripods by Libec/Bescor that are pretty inexpensive (in some cases under $250 for tripods that appear to have the exact features I'm looking for), but I don't want to buy the entire kit when I have no intention of using the head that came with it.
Does anyone know of a means of buying just the sticks for one of these kits? I can find Bogen and Satchler and Miller legs everywhere, but I don't have $400+ lying around to pick them up. I tried to find the Libec corporate site, but only found a European distributor offering sticks for over $350 or so American.
Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I'm just looking for advice and didn't want to post in the Marketplace. Is there some magic website that might sell legs of this type on the (relatively) cheap? (You know, that isn't eBay)
