Cheap Lighting

I'm looking into buying some lighting for mostly outdoor night scenes. I'm looking of for something on the cheap, I know lighting equipment gets pretty expensive but the truth is i don't have that kind of money for the expensive stuff and none of my projects are anything serious yet. I still pretty new to the whole lighting stuff.

I found this on adorama, Would this be something acceptable for night shots?

Want to keep it under $200. Would outside night scenes need fluorescent or tungsten lighting? Sorry if these are really dumb questions, but again i'm still new to this.

TIA

Not at all. Those are 70w softboxes. You're gonna need power.

par 64 units/cans/ETC are cheap, powerful, and come in varieties of 'throw'. Can't get any more bang for the buck. Of course there are downsides, but if you want cheap, it does not get much better then that.

That's right. You can often find that kind of stuff listed for DJ lighting. Try eBay for new and used (there's a DJ category) or lots of online electronics outfits.

If you want to go really cheap use car headlights - still on the car - and reflectors

I;m not kidding but I don't have a clear idea what you want to light.

Thanks for the replies guys! I look into those. Now would those lights I linked in the first post be good for indoor lighting?
