- 2 x 10'/2" PVC pipes ($8?)
- 1 x 24"/24"( / 3/4") NDF board ($6?)
- 1 X pair/set of file-cabinet, in-line moving wheels (each wheel is about 1" and on metal tracks, sitting 2 {side by side} and 6 or 8 {in line}. The 2 rows of wheels on each track are spaces about 1/2". ($10?)
- 1 x 2/4" piec of wood cut in 2, 20" segments (used to brace apart pipes @ both ends) ($7?)
- 1 X roll of duct tape ($3?)
- 1 X small can of WD40 ($3?)
- 1 x box of small screws ($2?)
if you've seen a skateboard dolly, it's the same idea. the tracks are the PVC pipes and the in-line file cabinet wheels are spaced so they hug the pipes. perfectly smooth with WD40 lube. but no turns.
the NDF board is the platform. the wheel tracks are either screwed or taped underneath the NDF, in line with the pipes and spaced by the 2/4 segments (taped to the insides of the pipes @ each end).
when assembled, it slides effortlessly and stands about 5" or 6" high.
You can also drill a hole at the back end (away from lens) of the NDF and thread a piece of sash or nylon cord so you can pull from behind ($2?).
