Cheap Boom Pole

Any suggestions? I'm currently using a monopod with the H4n on the camera mount end and the mic and cables duct taped to the monopod. Would like a screw top so I can attach the mic properly...

the rode boom pole is pretty cheap($150), long(10') and designed for acting as a boom pole. i don't remember if its made to accept an internal cable, but just get you some hair ties or velcro straps and you're good to go.

The Rode boom pole does have internal cable capabilities, but I had to modify mine to accept my XLR cable, the slot at the top was too narrow. They may have fixed this since I bought mine. (mine doesn't even have Rode printed on the grip.)
