We did a half day shoot for a company. They flew in a rep to conduct and interview with a corporate exec and everything went well. There was a script sent to us to show the main content and flow of things, but we were just lighting, audio and video covering the interview as the rep took things over and pulled out her own notes and questions.
To make a long story short, we sent the footage to the company that contracted us, and now they do not wish to pay for it. Stating that the interview was not in the guidelines even though we were had nothing to do with what the rep had on her agenda.
We have half a day of work, time off from our day jobs, gas, dealing with traffic, hauling equipement all over, and the time to set up and take down. They are also refusing to return our tapes.
My main point is that they ordered a crew for a half day and got it. It does not matter if they want to change it and mimic a "snuggies" commercial, that is thier business and the footage is what the rep from thier company wanted to film at that time and someone needs to pay for it as the crew showed up and did a fine job getting the footage and "B" roll requested.
Looking for a copyright notice I can send the company that hired us to get the footage they did not want back or some other way to resolve the issue. We are out about $700.00 on this one, really would have helped with the Holidays coming up.
