Chasing Amy

Easily my favorite Kevin Smith flick. It has a lot of heart in it compared to the rest of his movies. It's real. That really happens to people. They think they've found love, but in reality they just don't know everything about that person.

Smith's writing is top notch in this film (he's amazing at writing dialogue). Affleck gives my favorite of his performances. Jason Lee was great in it as well, his delivery, hand motions everything. The only actor I didn't like in the film was Joey Lauren Adams. I can't stand her voice. Nails on a chalk board to me.

Anyone else like this movie as much as I did?

great indie flick his best but not funnier watch. but great film... what happen to that smith writing?

Not only is it the only Smith film I can take, but I tend to rewatch it at least once/year. Very good stuff.

It's his best film.

The only problem I have with it is that he makes it too real-world for the dialogue. His dialogue is great when the film is off-kilter and gimmicky. But the tone of Chasing Amy is meant to be real-world . . . and nobody talks like that in the real world.

So, it takes you out of the film a little. But it's still his best film.

I was with this movie right up until the end, when Ben's character made that ludicrous proposal...Definitely Kevin's best, though. I love the easter bunny and the lesbian scene.
