Charge Battery while Running Camera on Power?

Anybody know for sure if Panasonic advises AGAINST charging a battery in the battery charger while running the HVX directly from the Power Adapter/Batter Charger. No counter-indication in the manual and it seems to work.

I haven't tested the HVX power adapter specifically but I thought when you plugged the dummy battery into the DC jack on the charger, the charger disengaged.....is this not how it is now?
 
Charger or Power Adapter, not both. I picked up a nice universal charger at Best Buy for $25 that comes with a cigarette adapter for charging in the car, works great.

yeah, I know, the Aaton 35 is a real pain, but they do 16mm better than anyone out there , IMHO. The XTR/LTR mags are the easiest loads around. The charger is:

It's been a while since I picked mine up and it looks like the price went up. The site shows it on sale for around $40. Still not bad. The picture doesn't show that it comes with a set of plastic plates that allow you to attach an astonishing array of battery types. And it comes with both the AC and DC cords.

They have cheap battery chargers online. I got 3 chargers for 50 bucks including shipping. WOrk great.. and athey are also very small. Don't power the camera.. but good for what I need.
