Any suggestions for character development software? How about Character Pro 5 or Character Writer 3.0-- anybody own or tried either out? (I know there are forms, workbooks, worksheets, but sometimes I like software so I can sit my sorry arse in the lounge chair at the coffee shop with with my subnotebook pc on my lap and peck away at the keyboard while sipping expensive bean juice).
EDIT: I also see that Dramatica Pro has character development utilities built into the software, along with a lot of other tools for developing story. Looks to be pretty powerful for the money ($270 retail, $220 on sale, but I can pick up the academic version for only $89 which is almost a no-brainer). EDIT: I found a link to a trial demo of Dramatic Pro 4 (click to access).
EDIT: Well, I downloaded a trial version of Dramatica Pro and to be honest it seemed a bit too much for what I want, and the fonts and avatars for characters were small. No demo for Character Pro so I skipped that one, but from that same company I downloaded the demo trial of Character Writer and have been playing with it and I am impressed, I think I will buy Character Writer 3.0 ($70)-- immense library of enneagram and psychological info that you can click and incorporate for characters, or customize, and the avatars are nicely sized but you can also use any image you want in addition to their library of character avatar images.
EDIT: Going with Character Pro 5, watched the flash demo and I like it.
