changing tape type DVX100

Hi folks,
the previous owner of my DVX100A used Sony tapes only (~55 hrs running time), I want to change to Panas MQ now. I've read not to mix the two tape types due to different coatings. So, should I clean the whole running gear as Barry showed, or do you think, that cleaning with a cleaning tape is enough?

Why not go ahead and clean it the way Barry shows us how? It is easy enough and the materials to do it actually cost less than a cleaning tape and (depending on who you ask) does less damage to the heads.
