Changing from 4:3 to 16:9 timeline

We started editing in a 4:3 timeline letterboxed with our 16:9 footage. I know stupid but we didnt do much that way. How can we copy the edits in that timeline and put them into a 16:9 anamorphic timeline without it stretching it? Do I have to reedit is there a way around this?

If you put an anamorphic clip into a 4:3 timeline it'll squeeze it to letterbox. So I guess what you'll need to do is select "anamorphic" in your sequence setting, everything will be badly stretched now. Then you'll have to go in the motion tab of every clip and put the aspect back to 0 (in "distort"). I can't think of any easier way ... sorry.
