I have a 6 gb video file and I need to change it to about 120 mbs so I can put it onto the internet, does anyone know how to change the file size on videos, or compress it down somehow?
Did you read the manuals? Do you even edit? Did you buy the program?
File - Export - Quicktime Conversion - Use the BROADBAND HIGH compression setting and hit OPTIONS to change size to reflect 16:9 if needed. I use 480x270

Then you have two great tools @ your service.
Compressor and QuicktimePro
If this is a FCP edit - I suggest you try to export with compressor and use one of the h.264 web-presets.
If this is a 16:9 video-clip, I suggest you try to open it in QTPro and choose export, set filetype to h.264, bitrate to 1500, filesize to 640x360 and audio to IMA 1:4
You should be pretty good.
If the resulting file is too big (let's say if for example your 6 gb file is a DV file), try to set your bitrate downwards to 750.
Remember to hook off for de-interlacing if your footage is interlaced. If you don't know what this means, hook off for de-interlacing.
